Jacqueline Gahagan is Professor and Head of the Health Promotion Division in the School of Health and Human Performance at Dalhousie University. She holds cross-appointments in Community Health and Epidemiology, International Development Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy. Gahagan’s research interests lie in harm-reduction policies and programs; gender-based analyses of health policies; program monitoring and evaluation; social and behavioural aspects of sexual health; STI/HIV/Hepatitis C prevention, care, and treatment; and health equity and pathways to health for LGBTQ populations. Gahagan edited Women and HIV Prevention in Canada: Implications for Research, Policy, and Practice (2013) and is widely published in health journals, including the Journal of Community Medicine and Health Education and the Journal of the International AIDS Society. In 2012, Gahagan received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Excellence in the Field of HIV/AIDS in Canada.
