Harald Bauder is Professor of Geography and Academic Director at the Centre for Immigration and Settlement at Toronto Metropolitan University. The editor of Immigration and Settlement: Challenges, Experiences, and Opportunities (2012) and author of numerous scholarly works, he is frequently consulted by news media on issues relating to his research in the political economy of immigration and settlement, the labour market experiences of new immigrants, and immigration discourses in Canada and Germany. Bauder is the recipient of a SSHRC grant for the study “International Migration of Privileged Labour: How Workers in Canada and Germany Gain from Mobility” and a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant for the project “Integration Trajectories of Immigrant Families.” An Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and Senior Researcher with the Metropolis Project, he has previously served on the CERIS Governance Board.
